Iran: WPF Vehemently Condemns Court's Upholding of Death Sentence for Kurdish Journalist Pakhshan Aziz

December 5, 2024 - Iran, Tehran

Women Press Freedom is appalled by the Supreme Court's decision to uphold the death sentence of Kurdish journalist Pakhshan Azizi, reinforcing the regime's brutal crackdown on dissent.

This is an outright attack on press freedom, women journalists, and human rights.

The international community must act now to stop this grave injustice. We demand Azizi's immediate exoneration and release.
