Pakistan: CFWIJ member Munizae Jahangir faces vicious online hate, threats

Women Press Freedom strongly condemns the vicious hate campaign targeting our member and senior journalist Munizae Jahangir. She is being targeted for her show discussing fake blasphemy accusations used to blackmail people.
This is not the first time that Jahangir has been targeted for her journalism. In the past, she has faced immense online harassment and trolling for highlighting critical issues. But this campaign spearheaded by religious fanatics is not only alarming but also threatens her physical safety.
We are immensely concerned for her well-being and urge authorities in Pakistan to immediately provide protection and swiftly apprehend the perpetrators involved in this hate campaign.
No journalist deserves to receive hate and threats for their work. There should be zero tolerance towards fake news and hate speech that weaponizes religion to target journalists.
