Ukraine: Man Attacks Olena Hnitetska During On-Site Reporting

Journalist Olena Hnitetska was assaulted while covering construction of an underground school in Kherson. Unidentified man on-site shoved her, seized her phone, and threw it into a construction pit. Assailant also hurled stones at Hnitetska before she managed to escape unharmed. Following the attack, she sought assistance from a passerby to contact the police.
Women Press Freedom denounces this violent assault on a journalist doing her job. We demand a thorough and impartial investigation into the aggressive actions. Assaults against the press must not be allowed to occur with impunity.
