Ukraine: Antonina Torbich Falsely Linked to Russian Special Services in Smear Campaign

November 6, 2024 - Ukraine, Rivne

Antonina Torbich, deputy editor of Chetverta Vlada, is the target of a smear campaign following her team’s critical reporting on the head of communications at Rivne City Council.

Multiple websites have falsely linked Antonina to Russian special services, citing an outdated address connected to the outlawed Russian Orthodox Church. These accusations are a blatant attempt to discredit her investigative work on local power dynamics involving the Rivne Razom party/NGO.

Women Press Freedom strongly denounces this dangerous campaign, which jeopardizes the safety of Antonina and her colleagues. We stand in solidarity with her and demand accountability for those perpetrating this intimidation.
