RTL journalist Hermine Le Clech was attacked on December 15, 2024, while reporting live near the home of a victim of the Wormhout shooting, which left 5 dead.
She was providing updates on the 9 a.m. news broadcast when several men interrupted her, shouting “get lost.” The harassment escalated into a physical assault, forcing the broadcast to be cut off mid-segment.
Women Press Freedom condemns this attack. While we extend our deepest condolences to the Wormhout community left reeling by this tragedy, violence against journalists is never justified. Police must identify the assailants and ensure accountability.
