Ecuador: Women Press Freedom Calls for Urgent Probe into Violent Attack on Journalist Thalía Flores in Quito

Thalía Flores was violently assaulted in Quito on her way to a meeting with colleagues. The attacker stole her phone, continued to shake her, and left her with a fracture after throwing her to the ground. The assailant's identity and motive are unknown.

Women Press Freedom condemns this attack and rising violence against journalists in Ecuador. We demand an urgent investigation and accountability for this horrific assault.
