Azerbaijan: Women Press Freedom Condemns Detention of Shahla Karim Amid Escalating Repression of Independent Media

Shahla Karim was forcibly detained by 10 masked men while covering opposition protests against alleged election fraud.

Driven 110 miles to Baku, she was held for hours and had her microphone confiscated. Escalating repression of independent media in the country has led to numerous unjust arrests.

Women Press Freedom condemns Karim's detention and demands an end to the state’s persecution of journalists and activists.
