Ukraine: RFE/RL Journalists Named in Terror Threats, WPF Calls for Immediate Investigation

Emails threatening a terrorist attack were sent to hundreds of Ukrainian media outlets, organizations, and institutions, prompting evacuations. Emails specifically named RFE/RL journalists Iryna Sysak, Valeria Yehoshyna, and freelancer Yulia Khymeryk, blaming their activities for the alleged bombings without citing specific actions.
These threats follow the journalists' investigation into how Russian intelligence recruits Ukrainians, including minors, to commit arson against military personnel.
Women Press Freedom stands in solidarity with RFE/RL and the journalists. We urge a swift investigation to identify and hold accountable the source of these frightening threats.
