Russia: Zhanna Nemtsova Confirms Surveillance by Pablo González for Russian Intelligence

September 1, 2024 - Poland, Warsaw

Zhanna Nemtsova reveals that Pablo González spied on her for Russian intelligence.

Arrested in Poland for espionage in 2022, González was recently freed in a prisoner swap and welcomed by Putin himself.

Using journalism as a cover, he infiltrated opposition circles, raising serious concerns about the safety of Russian dissidents in Europe.

Women Press Freedom denounces the targeting of Russian journalists and activists in exile and urges a thorough investigation into González’s role and the information he gathered. This is yet another example of Russia's cynical attempts to intimidate those in exile.
