Iran: Women Press Freedom Condemns Murder of Mansoureh Ghadiri Javid by Her Husband

November 10, 2024 - Iran, Tehran

Women Press Freedom strongly condemns the horrific violation of rights represented by the tragic murder of Iranian journalist Mansoureh Ghadiri Javid. This brutal act of violence not only claims the life of a dedicated journalist but also highlights the alarming prevalence of domestic violence against women, particularly those in the media.

We stand in solidarity with Ghadiri Javid's family and call for a thorough investigation into this crime, ensuring that justice is served. It is imperative that the authorities take immediate action to address the systemic issues that enable such violence and to protect journalists and women from domestic abuse.

Women Press Freedom urges governments and civil society to prioritize the safety of journalists and to create an environment where women can work and live free from fear and violence. We must collectively strive for a world where the rights and lives of all individuals are respected and safeguarded.
