We demand Brazilian authorities to conduct a swift investigation into the threat messages and ensure journalist’s safety.
Panama: CFWIJ Demands Swift Investigation Into The Death Threats Journalist Flor Mizrachi Faces
La Prensa reporter and ECO TV presenter Flor Mizrachi faced death threats following her news coverage about corruption in Panama’s COVID-19 vaccination process. The journalist received phone calls after publishing her two reports of irregular vaccination. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) is utterly dismayed by the vicious threats Flor faced. We call Panamanian authorities to conduct a swift investigation into the incident and identify the suspects. We demand security officials to ensure the safety of journalist’s safety.
South Africa: CFWIJ Condemns The Public Harassment Against Ayesha Ismail
eNCA correspondent Ayesha Ismail endured public harassment along with her cameraman while reporting on an anti-racism protest in Cape Town. Reportedly, the incident took place on June 10 when supporters of the opposition party, South African Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), threatened the journalist. Amidst the chaos by violent supporters, the crew fled the scene to save themselves from attack. CFWIJ condemns the mass outrage against the journalist and her cameraman. We demand an immediate investigation into the matter by the law enforcement authorities.
Liberia: CFWIJ Condemns The Threatening Messages Targeting Journalist Aryee Davis
Aryee Davis has endured life-threatening messages following two of her publications on Green Coast TV's online news platform. Assigned to the Liberian Legislature, Aryee reported academic fraud involving one of the members of the House of Representatives. Grand Gedeh county representative Alex Grant reportedly submitted fake credentials to the University of Liberia. Aryee covered the story and received vicious threats from supporters of the representative.
Pakistan: CFWIJ Is Horrified By The Violent Attack On Veteran Journalist Jugnu Mohsin
Veteran journalist Syeda Maimanat Mohsin, popularly known as Jugnu Mohsin survived an assassination attempt on Monday, June 7. Her convoy was attacked by armed assailants in Okara when she left after attending an event. Assailants fired on her convoy and attacked the cars with sticks and stones as they intercepted the convoy.

Ginger Gloom, a reporter for Codigos also a lawyer, received death threats over her coverage about the candidate for federal deputation in Guanajuato, Ricardo Gómez Escalante and his campaign team. Belarus: CFWIJ Condemns The Intimidation Policies Against Arina Malinovskaya
Belsat TV programme host Arina Malinovskaya, who left Belarus due to possible persecution, was threatened with her relatives. Arina was called and threatened by the Belarusian authorities to return to the country. She was told that until her return, her relatives would be kept in detention. The Chairman of the Presidency, Milorad Dodik, threatened journalist Tanja Topić calling her ‘agent of the German BND’ and ‘traitor’ in a statement to the SRNA news agency from Republika Srpska. We find these tactics endanger journalists’ safety and stand in solidarity with Tanja.

Rosamund stated that the last time he was in the area he visited her office before going on the run and remained untraceable for days. While explaining the details of the ordeal, she revealed how the unsettling experience left her emotionally drained.
France: CFWIJ Horrified At The Death Threats Towards Journalist Maty Fall
Journalist Maty Fall, who is originally from Senegal, was sent death threats online while she was covering the event in her home country. The sheer volume of violence threats and abuses that she received caught the attention of local journalist unions and other civil society groups who have extended her support and condemned the campaign against her. Maty has since filed a complaint with the police.

Marianna Spring, an award-winning reporter covering disinformation and social media for BBC News was subjected to incessant online trolling. The journalist faced a barrage of hateful comments for her reporting on the conspiracy theories that were being promoted around the covid19 pandemic. Marianna said that she was bombarded with horrific abuse and threats. CFWIJ condemns this toxic culture of intimidating women journalists online. This dangerous trend has now prevailed all over in our online spaces and has made it hard to engage in civic discourse. We once again urge social media tech giants to come up with some solution to end this pattern of online harassment against women journalists.
France: CFWIJ Expresses Deep Concern Regarding The Threatening Letter Received By Journalist Nadiya Lazzouni
Nadiya Lazzouni received an anonymous letter at her private residence. The letter was replete with sexist and Islamophobic slurs and included death threats. Nadiya believes that she was targeted for her religious visibility and expressed great fear about the implications of the perpetrator's access to her residential address.
The Philippines: CFWIJ Condemns The Unprovoked Threat Against Chiara Zambrano And Her News Team
Chiara Zambrano from ABS-CBN, and her news team were on an assignment in the west Philippines sea close to Palawan province. The journalist was investigating where Filipino fishermen relocated after losing their former fishing grounds to Chinese vessels. The news team was headed towards a reef surface to interview Philippine military detachments who presumably provide security to fishermen anchored there. On their way to Ayungin Shoal, the Filipino crew spotted a Chinese coast guard ship and received a radio message to identify themselves. The boat operator could not respond as the message was in English, and he did not understand. Moments later, the Filipino vessel carrying Chiara Zambrano and her news team was chased by two missile-equipped Chinese boats until they returned to Palawan region. CFWIJ is concerned by this drastic and unjustified threat to Chiara Zambrano and her team.
