WPF strongly denounces the violent assault on journalist Avin Atta by the Asayish - Kurdish security organization . The attack demonstrates the dangerous conditions journalists face when reporting in sensitive areas like border regions.

Security forces of the Kurdistan Regional Government detained Hejîn Fetah and her Zoom News colleagues who were reporting on Turkish military actions in the Amedi district for 10 hours.

WPF condemns this attack and calls for an immediate and thorough investigation by Iraqi and Turkish authorities to find out why the Çira TV vehicle was targeted.

Journalist and chief editor of Irfaa Sawtak news website, Rasha Al-Aqeedi harassed online on Twitter for expressing her dissident views. The Coalition For Women In Journalism supports the journalist against these online trolls and attacks.

Iraqi journalist Noor Maytham Shuhab known as “Noor Al-Qaissi’' s asylum application rejected in may 2029 by the Swedish supreme court because Iraq is no longer categorized as a dangerous country. CFWIJ urges the Swedish authorities to review Noor’s application and review its assessment of the situation in Iraq to comply with human rights and security reports and alerts.
