Turkey: Police Violence Towards Dokuz8NEWS Correspondent Fatoş Erdoğan
Dokuz8NEWS correspondent Fatoş Erdoğan exposed the police violence while reporting on protests of the Youth Movement in Istanbul on October 25. While reporting and filming the demonstration, police attacked and attempted to detain Fatos Erdogan, Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Deputy Musa Piroglu prevented the journalist’s detention. As a result of police violence, Fatos Erdogan’s shirt was torn.

Türkiye: Gazeteci Demet Aran Polis Şiddetine Maruz Kaldı
Gazeteci Demet Aran, 14 Ekim 2020’de İşçi Sağlığı ve İşçi Güvenliği Meclisi’nin basın açıklamasını takip ederken polis şiddetine maruz kaldı. Gazeteci Aran, düzenlenen basın açıklamasına yönelik yapmak istediği video çekimi sırasında polis tarafından engellendi. Mesleğini yaptığını belirten gazeteciye, polis ters kelepçe takarak gözaltına almak istedi. Kısa bir süre sonra polis yetkilisinin “Gazeteciyi bırakın” demesiyle serbest bırakılan Aran’ın telefonuna el konuldu. El konulan telefonunu güvenlik şubeden tutanakla teslim alan gazeteci, saldırıda bulunan polis hakkında suç duyurusunda bulunacağını belirtti.

9 Ekim 2020'de tutuklanan Jinnews muhabiri Şehriban Abi, gazeteci Nazan Sala ve Mezopotamya Ajansı muhabirleri Adnan Bilen ve Cemil Uğur götürüldükleri cezaevinde insan dışı uygulamalarla karşı karşıya. Özellikle tutuklu kadın gazeteciler, adli erkek koridorundaki bir koğuşta tutuluyor ve insanlık dışı işkencelerle maruz bırakılıyor. Gazetecilikte Kadın Koalisyonu olarak söz konusu bu insanlık dışı koşulları kınıyor ve gazeteci arkadaşlarımızın tüm temel ihtiyaçlarının derhal yerine getirilmesini talep ediyoruz.
Turkey: Inhumane Torture Continues To Arrested Journalists From Jinnews And Mesopotamia Agency
The journalists, who were arrested on October 9, 2020, from Jinnews reporter Sehriban Abi, journalist Nazan Sala and Mesopotamia Agency correspondents Adnan Bilen and Cemil Ugur are facing brutal conditions in prison. Particularly, the journalists two of which are women, have been tortured inhumanly, as they are being held in male ward and facing inconvenient conditions. The Coalition For Women In Journalism condemns the provided inhumane conditions and demands all the essential needs are fulfilled immediately.
Croatia: N1 TV Crew Verbally Harassed During Covid-19 Interview
The guest of Dnevnik N1 television on October 14 was the director of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases Alemka Markotić, who talked to reporter Matea Dominiković about the great growth of newly infected people in Croatia. However, just before appearing live on Dnevnik N1, N1 TV crew and professor Markotić were verbally attacked by a young couple.
