Mezopotamya Kadın Gazeteciler Platformu (MKGP) Sözcüsü ve Jinnews editörü Ayşe Güney, Diyarbakır’ın Kayapınar ilçesinde bulunan evine yapılan polis baskınıyla gözaltına alındı. Gözaltı işlemleri Diyarbakır ve Gaziantep’te kadın derneklerine yönelik yürütülen ve 19 kişinin gözaltına alındığı operasyonların bir parçası olarak yapılırken gözaltı gerekçesine ilişkin henüz bilgi verilmedi.

Mesopotamia Women Journalists Platform Spokesperson and JinNews editor Ayşe Güney was detained early this morning during a raid at her house. Ayşe's house was raided around 04.30 am and police searched the journalist's house for around 1.5 hours. No information has been obtained regarding the grounds of detention. The raid was part of an operation conducted in Diyarbakır and Gaziantep towards women's organizations in the region. 19 women rights’ activists have been detained during the operations. Police also secretly took photos of Güney and her colleagues in her house.

Gato Encerrado News reporter Julia Gavarrete reported on July 2nd that her house was broken into while she was at a press conference. When Julia returned from work, she found her house door open and her room had been deliberately scattered with her belongings, papers, stationery and work material. Her laptop was stolen, that being the only material of value missing and no other valuable strokes is described as a robbery. The incident seems methodological to the journalist who feels it could be linked with the state.
