France: CFWIJ Denounces The Intimidation From The State Of Venezuela Against Journalist Andreina Mujica
Andreina Mujica, a Franco-Venezuelan journalist was called by the French police against a complaint filed by the counsel of Venezuela on June 8. The complaint against Andreina was filed by Venezuelan counsel Glenna Cabello, who accused the journalist of posting threats to her life in a Facebook post on March 12, 2019. As per Andreina, the Facebook post in question was done by her to demand the release of a journalist Luis Carlos, captured by the state.
India: CFWIJ Welcomes The Dismissal Of Journalist M Radhakrishnan After Reports Emerge Of Him Harassing A Woman Colleague
Journalist M Radhakrishnan, who is also the Secretary of Thiruvananthapuram Press Club, was dismissed by his employer news outlet “The Kerala Kaumudi” after reports of him harassing a woman journalist and colleague came to light. The survivor who wishes to stay anonymous claimed that Radhakrishnan barged into her home and harassed, abused and assaulted the occupants in November 2019.

Mahkeme, gazetecinin çalıştığı Jin News haber ajansının PKK ile iltisaklı olduğuna yönelik bilgi olup olmadığının sorulması gerekçesiyle sonraki duruşmayı 29 Eylül 2021'e erteledi.
Turkey: CFWIJ Condemns The Baseless Terror Charges Against Journalist Nurcan Yalçin
Journalist Nurcan Yalçın faces charges of being affiliated with a terrorist organization and spreading terrorist propaganda. The trial's fourth hearing was held in Diyarbakır today. The court ordered the Security Directorate’s Anti-Terror Branch to investigate whether Jin News Agency, where Nurcan works, has connections to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). The next hearing will be held on September 29, 2021.
Belarus: CFWIJ Condemns The Solitary Confinement Of Blogger Volha Takarchuk
Volha Takarchuk runs a political blog on Youtube and has a following of 37,000 subscribers. Volha was accused of violating the rules of procedure and was put in solitary confinement. It is not clear what was that violation. She was arrested on the orders of the prosecutor of Pershamiaski district, in Minsk on May 23.
Pakistan: CFWIJ Is Horrified By The Violent Attack On Veteran Journalist Jugnu Mohsin
Veteran journalist Syeda Maimanat Mohsin, popularly known as Jugnu Mohsin survived an assassination attempt on Monday, June 7. Her convoy was attacked by armed assailants in Okara when she left after attending an event. Assailants fired on her convoy and attacked the cars with sticks and stones as they intercepted the convoy.

Belarusian journalist Maria Malevich’s apartment was raided by police Friday, June 4. She was not at home at the time of the raid. Maria had gone out of the city when the police arrived. Prior to the police raid, a district police officer visited the relatives of Maria’s husband, Sergei Satsyuk-Grabovsky, who also happens to be a journalist.

Turkey: CFWIJ Fears Escalating Crackdown On Press Freedom, Journalists Must Be Acquitted Of All Groundless Charges
It is a dark day for press freedom in Turkey. Today, four journalists appeared in court in four separate cases against them on terrorism charges. Each journalists’ trial -except Melike Aydın- was postponed yet again. Expert reports, testimonies of witnesses were given as an excuse to adjourn the hearings again. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) is aware that the constant postponement of trials is a new method managed to intimidate journalists. We strongly condemn the Turkish legal system and demand an immediate acquittal of journalists who allow the truth to be revealed. We reiterate that “Journalism is not a crime”.
France: CFWIJ Is Monitoring The Criminal Complaint Filed By Journalist Isabelle Kersimon
French journalist Isabelle Krismon has filed criminal defamation complaints against unknown people who attacked her on social media. The journalist was following the investigation on a political movement “La Printemps Republican”. Her investigative stories were published on 4, 8, and 25th February in an online magazine, Slate. CFWIJ is following the situation of the defamation charges filed by Isabelle Kersimon.
Palestine: CFWIJ Condemns The Forced Detention And Physical Assault Against Givara Budeiri
Givara Budeiri, Jerusalem correspondent for Al Jazeera Arabic was assaulted and arrested by Israeli forces while she was on a work assignment in occupied East Jerusalem- in the neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah. Givara was reporting from a sit-in organized to celebrate the 54th anniversary of “Naksa” A term that Palestinian people use to describe Israel's occupation in 1967.

Journalists Najwan al-Sumari and Bara'a Abu Romouz were assaulted by Israeli armed forces while covering the events unfolding in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood. This is only the latest example of the accelerated militarized effort of the Israeli state on the Palestinian civil society.

Turkey: CFWIJ Denounces Police Intervention Against Journalists
Four women journalists were beaten and prevented while covering women’s demonstration in Ankara. The journalists followed the press statement that was made before the trial against the Ankara Women's Platform. 33 women are facing charges over confronting withdrawal of the Istanbul Convention. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) condemns the escalating pressure and violence against journalists using security forces directive as an excuse. Journalists are responsible for informing the public.

Dokuz8Haber muhabiri Fatoş Erdoğan, İstanbul Kadıköy’de takip ettiği protesto sırasında polis tarafından darp edildi. Haber takibi yapması engellendi.
