Türkiye: Gazeteciliğin Yargilandiği Davada Sona Gelindi– CFWIJ, Canan Coşkun’un Beraat Etmesini Memnuniyetle Karşılıyor
Gazeteci Canan Coşkun’un “terörle mücadelede görev almış kişileri terör örgütlerine hedef göstermek” suçlamasıyla yargılandığı davaya bugün İstanbul’da devam edildi. Mahkeme, gazeteci hakkında beraat kararı verdi. Gazetecilikte Kadın Koalisyonu (CFWIJ) mahkeme kararını memnuniyetle karşılıyor, davanın diğer yargılamalar için emsal teşkil etmesini talep ediyor. Mahkeme kararı bir kez daha gazeteciliğin suç olmadığını kanıtlamıştır.
Turkey: CFWIJ Welcomes Journalist Canan Coşkun’s Acquittal
Journalist Canan Coşkun appeared before an İstanbul court today (Thursday) to defend herself terrorism case against her. The court announced its verdict and Canan was eventually acquitted of all charges after many delayed hearings. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) welcomes this decision. The court’s verdict proves once again journalism is not a crime. We hope other fabricated cases against journalists are dismissed as well.
Türkiye: Basın Özgürlüğü Kısıtlanmaya Devam Ediyor. CFWIJ Gazeteciler Büşra Taşkıran Ve Öznur Değer’e Yönelik Polis Engellemesini Kınıyor
Türkiye’de basın özgürlüğüne yönelik kısıtlamalar giderek artıyor. Gazeteciler Büşra Taşkıran ve Öznur Değer, Ankara’da yurttaşlarla yaptığı sokak röportajı sırasında turkuaz basın kartı olmadığı gerekçe gösterilerek polis tarafından engellendi. Gazetecilerin haber yapma hakkı yine ihlal edildi.
Turkey: Press Freedom Continues to Be Restricted, CFWIJ Condemns Police Obstruction of Journalists Büşra Taşkıran and Öznur Değer
Restrictions on press freedom continue sharply in Turkey. Journalists Büşra Taşkıran and Öznur Değer were impeded by the police during their street interview in Ankara. The police claimed that journalists were not considered professionals because they did not have an official press card. Journalists' right to report was once again violated.
