CFWIJ Global Coordinator Luavut Zahid began the session with an overview of the threats women journalists face online and the kind of risks they could face when in the field. She spoke about the cost of putting oneself out there as a journalist and being bullied, harassed and targeted by anyone in the cyber space.
Challenges and Solutions for Women Journalists in Pakistan Newsrooms
CFWIJ hosted a discussion today at the Institute of Business Management, focused on overcoming the many challenges women journalists face in Pakistan. The session included CFWIJ member and senior journalist Afia Salam, who discussed the different issues that women journalists face in the industry, and how they could be overcome. She detailed how investing in new digital media initiatives was the best way for people to adapt to the changing industry.
