Palestine: CFWIJ Condemns The State Of Israel For Detaining Palestinian Journalists Wahbi Makiya And Zeina Al-Halawani

Israeli forces physically assaulted and arrested two Palestinian journalists in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood without charge and warrant. Wahbi Makiya and Zeina Al-Halawani were arrested while they were covering the predominantly Palestinian neighborhood in East Jerusalem where the Israeli state intends to enact mass displacements. Acceleration of these events resulted after several days of Israeli armed forces targeting Palestinian civilians following the expulsions orders of Palesitinian families from the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood.

The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) is utterly dismayed by the deliberate and vicious attacks against journalists. We demand the Israel state to end the violence towards Palestinians.
