Afghan police raided photojournalist Tahereh Rezaei's house, searched it without a warrant, and terrorized her and her guests. The Coalition For Women In Journalism condemns this grave violation of privacy and consequent threat to press freedom. We are alarmed for the safety of women journalists in Afghanistan.

The Coalition For Women In Journalism monitors the US Elections and electoral campaigns. The electoral scene is mostly dominated by misinformation and fear of violence and the consequences of the election results. Many journalists expressed their concern about the situation in the street following the results of the elections. The Coalition For Women In Journalism is concerned about the level of disinformation circulated on Social media platforms and even by the Current president himself and we call upon all parties to adhere to the rule of law and democratic principles.

CNN anchor Amara Walker faced three racist attacks within an hour at New Orleans International Airport following her two-day coverage of Hurricane Zeta. The Coalition For Women In Journalism is devastated by the appalling discrimination Amara had to endure. The CFWIJ emphasizes that racism carries harmful consequences not only for journalists, but for each and every person it affects around the world. We must raise awareness of equality, dignity and diversity for all.

Julia Wall, a photojournalist at News & Observer, was pushed by the police while covering a march to the poll held in Graham, North Carolina. The Coalition for Women in Journalism finds these brutal incidents intolerable, as it impedes a journalist’s ability to keep the public informed - a vital duty of their job.

Freelance photographer Chae Kihn was arrested by New York Police Department (NYPD) while covering an anti-Trump demonstration. The Coalition For Women In Journalism finds these arrests as tactics of suppression and intimidation against journalists who are simply doing their jobs.
