Turkey: Trial Against Five Journalists Adjourned For Tenth Time – Journalists Must Be Acquitted Immediately

The trial against journalists was postponed for the tenth time. The next hearing, in which five women journalists were tried, was postponed to November 23 2021. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) considers the trials against journalists that are constantly postponed as a new method to silence and intimidate journalists. Journalists must be acquitted immediately.

Palestine: CFWIJ Condemns The Violent Attack On Women Journalists By Security Forces

Several Palestinian women journalists were brutally targeted while covering the demonstrations held in Ramallah on June 28. Protests turned violent as the crowd demanded an independent investigation into the killing of activist Nizar Banat. Reportedly, security forces brutally assaulted several demonstrators, including several women journalists. Shaza Hammad, Najla Zaitoun, Fayhaa Khanfar, Saja A-Alami, and Fateh Alwan were chased and attacked along with several others.
