United States: The Coalition For Women In Journalism Extends Condolences To Good Morning America Producer Daisha Riley’s Loved Ones

The Coalition For Women In Journalism is devastated over the sudden and unexpected death of Good Morning America producer Daisha Riley at age 35, yesterday. Her cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Her GMA team published a tribute video yesterday stating: “Riley, who died unexpectedly, was a young and talented producer who rose through the ranks over the years on the show and whose legacy lives on in the stories she told.”

Daisha was an Emmy Award winning journalist and a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.

Good Morning America host Michael Strahan spoke about Daisha in a tribute segment yesterday. “She rose through the ranks over the years on our show, working on stories that have made so many of you, our viewers, smile and tear up. Her legacy lives on in a powerful voice she shared through storytelling,” Strahan said.
Daisha Riley is the fourth staff member that the Good Morning America crew lost during 2020. We share their sorrow and extend our condolences for Daisha’s loved ones.
The CFWIJ strongly condemns the police brutality against journalists. We demand the immediate return of the press cards seized from the security forces. Policies to intimidate journalists should be abandoned, and journalism should be practiced under the criteria of freedom of the press.
