Poland: CFWIJ Police Interference With Agnieszka Kaszuba's Reporting on State of Emergency At Belarus Border

Agnieszka Kaszuba, a reporter for the daily newspaper Fakt, was briefly detained along with her team when she was following a bus carrying migrants near the Polish-Belarusian border. The journalist was reporting about the arrest of migrants on the frontier. Police held Agnieszka and her team for about an hour and searched their car. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) denounces the obstruction against journalists. We extend our solidarity with Agnieszka.

South Sudan: CFWIJ Condemns The Interrogation Against Journalists Maura Ajak And Yom Manas

Security forces confiscated three journalists' equipment, two of whom were women, while following the opening of parliament by President Salva Kiir in Juba's Freedom Hall. Journalists were also briefly detained. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) condemns the impediment against journalists. We demand authorities to end intimidation policies against journalists in the country. Journalists must freely do their jobs.

Russia: CFWIJ Condemns Police Raid And Interrogation Against Journalist Maria Zholobova

Moscow police raided the apartments of three journalists, including reporter Maria Zholobova of the independent news organization Proekt, and interrogated them. Police confiscated phones, computers, flash drives and SIM cards from Maria. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) denounces state intimidation against journalists. We demand Russian authorities to end these intimidating policies against journalists and return their equipment.
