Türkiye: CFWIJ Gazeteci Ayşe Kara Hakkında Verilen Beraat Kararını Memnuniyetle Karşılıyor
Gazeteci Ayşe Kara hakkında “örgüt üyeliği” suçlamasıyla açılan davada beraat kararı verildi. Mahkeme, iddia edilen suçun sanık tarafından işlendiğinin sabit olmadığına hükmetti. Gazetecilikte Kadın Koalisyonu (CFWIJ) olarak mahkeme kararını memnuniyetle karşılıyoruz. Beraat kararının yargılanan diğer gazeteciler için de emsal teşkil etmesini talep ediyoruz. Gazetecilik suç değildir.
Turkey: CFWIJ Welcomes Journalist Ayşe Kara’s Acquittal
Journalist Ayşe Kara was acquitted on charges of "being a member of a terrorist organization". The court ruled the allegations were unclear that the crime was committed by the defendant. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) welcomes the court's verdict. We demand this decision also set a precedent for other journalists on trial. Journalism is not a crime.
Türkiye: Sonuçlanmayan Davalarda Bugün, Gazeteci Pınar Gayıp Ve Semiha Şahin’in Duruşması 15’inci Kez Ertelendi
Etkin Haber Ajansı (ETHA) editörü Semiha Şahin ve muhabir Pınar Gayıp’ın “örgüt üyeliği” ve “örgüt propagandası yapmak” suçlamalarıyla tutuksuz yargılandığı dava 15’inci kez ertelendi. Mahkeme, geçen duruşmada olduğu gibi yine eksik unsurların giderilmesine hükmederek bir sonraki duruşmayı 10 Mart 2022’ye ertelendi. Gazetecilikte Kadın Koalisyonu (CFWIJ), adalet talep ediyor. Adil yargılamalardan uzak davalara derhal son verilsin. Gazetecilik suç değildir.
Turkey: No Justice To Journalists Semiha Şahin And Pinar Gayip Again
The trial in which Etkin News Agency (ETHA) editor Semiha Şahin and reporter Pınar Gayip have tried charges of "being affiliated with a terrorist organization" and "spreading propaganda" was postponed for the 15th time. The court adjourned the next hearing to March 10, 2022 ruling again the missing elements should be eliminated. The Coalition for Women in Journalism (CFWIJ) demands justice for the journalists facing baseless charges. The cases that are far from fair trials should be ended immediately. Journalism is not a crime.
Türkiye: Özgür Gündem Davasında Yine Karar Çıkmadı
Kanun Hükmünde Kararname ile (KHK) kapatılan Özgür Gündem gazetesi editörü Reyhan Çapan ve gazete yazarlarının yargılandığı dava 21’nci kez ertelendi. Dava sanıkların mahkemeye bildirdiği mazeret gerekçesiyle görülmedi. Bir sonraki duruşma 23 Şubat 2022 tarihinde görülecek. Gazetecilikte Kadın Koalisyonu (CFWIJ) olarak mesleki faaliyetleri nedeniyle hakim karşısına çıkmak zorunda kalan gazetecilerin yanındayız. Türk yetkililerden Reyhan’ın derhal beraat edilmesini talep ediyoruz. Gazetecilik suç değildir.
Turkey: No Verdict In Özgür Gündem Case For The 21st Time
The trial against Özgür Gündem newspaper’s former managing editor Reyhan Çapan and four of its writers was adjourned without notice today. It was the 21st time that the court adjourned the trial. The next hearing will be held on February 23, 2022. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) stands by the journalists who have to defend themselves against baseless charges for their professional activities. We demand Turkish authorities acquit Reyhan from all charges. We reiterate that journalism is not a crime.
