Democratic Republic Of The Congo (DRC): CFWIJ Is Appalled By The Shooting Of Journalist Nanou Kazaku. We Call For An Immediate Investigation Into The Incident.

Nanou Kazaku, a radio journalist based in Goma, the capital of North-Kivu province in the DRC, was shot on Wednesday, February 17. Nanou was covering a demonstration in the Keyshero neighborhood when she took a bullet to the neck. The journalist was rushed to CBCA hospital and treated for her injuries. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) is appalled by the shooting of the journalist. We demand an immediate and proactive police investigation into this attack.

Congo: Journalist Rozenn Kalafulo Forced Into Hiding Due To Threats From The Military

Congolese journalist Rozenn Kalafulo said in an interview she gave to AFP that she has been hiding in an unknown destination for a week after threatening remarks of army officers during a press conference by President of the Democratic Republic of Congo Felix Tshisekedi. Editor-in-chief of Pole FM, Rozenn Kalafulo asked the head of state about the business activities of certain high-ranking members of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) and about their potential links with armed groups during the press conference.
