Türkiye’de yangın bölgelerinde haber takibi yapan gazeteciler Dilek Gül ve Gülşah İnce jandarma ekipleri tarafından akreditasyon engeliyle karşı karşıya kaldı. Yangın bölgelerinde haber yapmak isteyen gazetecilere gerekçe olarak kararın yüksek makamlardan verildiği açıklandı. Gazetecilikte Kadın Koalisyonu (CFWIJ) olarak basını susturmaya yönelik bu girişimi kınıyoruz. Gazeteciler ayrım gözetmeksizin mesleklerini her koşulda yapabilmelidir.
Turkey: CFWIJ Condemns Accreditation Barrier Against Journalists
Journalists Dilek Gül and Gülşah İnce, who were covering wildfires in Turkey, faced an accreditation barrier by the security forces. The decision came out from the higher authorities as the reason given for the journalists. The Coalition For Women In Journalism (CFWIJ) condemns this attempt to silence the press. Journalists should be able to do their job under any conditions without discrimination.
Nigeria: CFWIJ Condemns The Ban On Twitter As It Bars Access To Information For Women Journalists
CFWIJ is concerned about the Twitter ban in Nigeria as the journalists suffer from obstruction in accessing the information. The suspension of Twitter operations in the country was announced after it deleted one of the tweets of the President as it violated the Twitters’ policy. CFWIJ spoke to prominent multimedia journalist Bukola Adebayo on this ill-intentioned and ill-advised decision as her work mainly focuses on the Africa region.
