WPF is alarmed by the violent attack on journalists, including a woman journalist, during the internal elections of the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) in Ramotswa.

In a troubling escalation of violence against the press in Madagascar, journalist Finoana Razafijaonimanana was injured by a stun grenade during a clash between police and demonstrators in Antananarivo.
