Chișinău Mayor Ion Ceban calls journalists "alcoholics," "clowns," & "sycophants," accusing them of serving the govt. Those targeted by the outrageous accusations included journalists Nata Albot and Mariana Rață.

Such rhetoric undermines press freedom, fuels hostility toward journalists, and endangers their safety. Women Press Freedom condemns the mayor's remarks as unworthy of a public official.

We stand with the journalists unjustly targeted and demand a public apology from the Mayor.
