An unnamed woman journalist from the "Jewish Forum for Democracy and Against Anti-Semitism" (JFDA) was assaulted in Berlin-Kreuzberg on January 6, 2025. The attack occurred on Reichenberger Strasse, where the journalist was called a “Zionazi” before being struck twice in the face. The victim, off duty at the time, sustained injuries and is receiving medical care.

The JFDA reported the incident, noting that the alleged perpetrator, known for aggressive behavior during pro-Palestinian demonstrations, targeted the journalist likely due to her prior reporting on such events. Police are investigating the case.

This attack highlights the growing dangers journalists face when covering sensitive topics like anti-Semitism. Germany has witnessed a troubling rise in violence against media professionals, fueled by political polarization and conspiracy-driven hostility.
