This attack follows Marieta's recent Emmy nomination for her reporting on a refugee tragedy.

Women Press Freedom condemns this disgraceful attempt to discredit her. We applaud the General Directorate Combating Organized Crime for swiftly removing the doctored image from multiple sites and urge a full investigation. Those responsible must be held accountable.
